The year was 2010 and I was in the process of planning my long service leave. It's predictable that we may tend to have a mid life crisis at some point, so here was my time to fulfil a dream I had 30 years ago. I was about to purchase a rust bucket on wheels. My very own FX Holden ute.
July 2010
I found the prime project car. A January 1953 original FX ute with matching tags and engine. The engine was running but the rest of the car was a rolling shell. There had been an attempt to patch and repair the well weathered ute by the previous owner but there was a lot of work yet to be done.
The ute was moved to my sister's home where the initial project planning and early tinkering began.
So the journey has begun, I will now let the pictures tell the story so far.
Cheers,
Cammo
